                                       Her Story:

Kyleigh D'Alessio was a sixteen year old honors student from Washington township New Jersey. She and three other friends were driving through the roads of Washington Township when the driver, Tanner Birch, lost control of the car, causing the vehicle to smack into a tree.  Both Kyleigh and Tanner lost their lives to complications from the accident. Since then, Kyleigh's family has made it their mission to make roads safer by formulating a new law that, when passed in the state of New Jersey, helped enforce stricter laws/guidelines regarding teen driving. Their efforts were successful. Since the implementation of Kyleigh's law, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has reported a decrease in the number of car crashes in New Jersey, which is now 3,200 less than it was before the law was passed. The makers of Kyleigh's Law have combined with the New jersey's Graduated Drivers License Program in order to fully ensure the safety of teen drivers statewide.
